My city recently changed to Aiken and I received my first correspondence from them the week of October 2, 2024. This letter stated that my account was past due. I mailed them a check and called them October 8, 2024 and left a message. They didn’t pick up my trash. I called again and left a message and they called me back on October 14, 2024. I advised them that the first letter I received was a past due notice. I told them I mailed them a check and they said they never received it. I asked how I can take care of it now and ended up paying with a credit card over the phone. I also authorized them to cash the check when it arrives and apply it to the next quarter. They still failed to pick up my trash. Now I have two weeks of garbage sitting in front of my house. And they were paid twice. Come pick up my trash!

I called and canceled trash service because I was selling my home on 6/17. On 10/14 I received a bill saying I owe for (2) trash payments.No one informed me I needed to “apply for a temporary suspension” with SR borough.Clearly, Aiken Refuse is incompetent and does not inform their customers what needs to be done to fully “cancel” their trash services.In addition, they promised a refund for unused services.

I never had issues with Tri-county when Hermitage used their services. Since Hermitage switched over to Aiken my trash has not been collected for 2 weeks. Apparently I’m going to have to leave trash bags on the street. Aiken said they placed a “hold” in my account for nonpayment despite me mailing it out. My husband paid over the phone then to ensure our trash gets picked up and they still didn’t collect it, saying we have to wait another week. Just gross. Do not recommend.

I has been about 6 months already and y'all still don't have your payment portal on the website. I just want to pay my bills without having to talk to anyone
